I went to the Forest Theatre in Carmel-by-the-Sea tonight and watched Ghostbusters. It was a really cool outdoor theatre and it wasn't that chilly. I had never seen Ghostbusters all the way through, or I just don't remember...but either way it is amazing that Jesus came up. People are always thinking about God or Jesus or religion in some way, even way back when Ghostbusters were made.
There comes a part in the movie when one character starts talking about end times stuff and asked if the other knew Jesus. The other character quoted Revelation about the moon turning into blood. Then the guy said I like Jesus' style. I had to put out an amen to that.
I also like Jesus' style. He's a gentlemen always waiting so patiently for us. He is knocking and all we have to do is answer. He never forces himself on us, but leaves the decision to follow him up to us--otherwise it wouldn't be true love if we were robots. Jesus' style is love. He loves us more than we could ever imagine. He is always with us and will never leave us nor forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5) Websters dictionary says that forsake means to renounce or turn away from entirely. Once you say YES to Jesus he'll NEVER turn away from you. Being a christian doesn't mean problems disappear but I do not even know how someone who doesn't have Jesus can make it through a tough time. Even when we mess up, guess who is always there to help? Jesus doing things Jesus Style.
Also, the characters started talking about end times stuff. Its going to be wild. The bible says that just like a woman giving birth, her pains become closer together once the baby is ready to come. In the same way, Jesus is on his way back and the pains of the earth are becoming closer and closer. Look at all the wars, earthquakes, fires, floods, natural disasters, etc etc. It seems horrid now and its only the beginning! 20 years ago half of this stuff was not happening, but it seems now everytime I open up the morning paper there is another fire added to the list, or another murder or blah blah. I could go on and on.
So although people mock those who say, "Repent for the end is near," judging by the pains of this world....we're close. 2 Corinthians 6:2 says
“ In an acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you.”[a]
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."
You do not know what could happen tonight or later on in the day. Now is that time to make a decision to become a friend of Jesus!
Cool Christmas Gift...
