My arm

I got my stitches out on Tuesday. The doctor said she put only 4 in. It doesn't look that bad now, but the whole goes down pretty deep. I had never had stitches before, and I didn't know how much they would make the skin itch now that they are out.

The biopsy came back and it said that there is no fungus growing! I don't fully believe it though it was great news to hear! Its interesting that although no fungus was present on the biopsy, the anti-fungus medicine made the circles go away on my arm.

I was on one round of pills, stopped, had the biopsy, then went on some more....so that means the medicine did its job!

Now please pray it stays away.....forever.

My Twin

My little Vanessa was so excited to show me her doll she got at a garage sale. She said it looked just like me. It had blonde hair and blue eyes. Lorena, Vanessa's mom, braided my hair and then Vanessa's older sister took a picture. I just needed some blonder hair, a pink dress and pink ballet shoes.

Monday I hung out and went to the Most Excellent Way where I get to babysit some cute kids.

Tuesdays I got the stitches out, went and visited my old student and her adorable little brother.

Yesterday I threw a birthday party for Janet Belardo, made a cool cake and hung out until we went to church.

Today I went to the district office and worked on ILP examples for 1st grade...oh what fun!

There! Caught up!

part 4

Sunday Hannah and I got up and went to 8:30 church and then tried to drive down Highway 1 to Morro Bay. Unfortunately there were some fires that had started from the lightening, so we got up to Carmel and had to turn around and head back to Highway 101. We drove down to San Simeon-went to the [ http://www.hearstcastle.com/ ]Hearst Castle visitor center and gift shop. We didn't go up to the castle because they were charging $25 to take the tram up the hill.

We then continued North on 1 to visit the Elephant Seals. A sign said the seals were molting, and we also saw them playing and fighting in the water. Others were just sun-bathing on the sand.

Emily met up with us in Cambria where we went to lunch, then headed over to visit my uncle's pottery shop in Harmony, CA. We then drove to Morro Bay and saw the Rock and then headed back to Monterey.

I felt like it had been a week break because of our busy weekend, but it was only a few days. =)

part 3

After Sara left Marina had a little thunder and lightening cool off shower. Those types of storms never happen here, and everyone was really shocked. I felt like I was in Austria when the big storms would come over the lake. Rain came out of no where but only lasted a few minutes. The picture looks like my experience in England last summer.

Part deux

My mom went up with Hannah and I before out adventure and as we were driving home we saw huge smoke clouds coming from Watsonville.

My mom came home and we watched the news only to find out that Highway 1 North was closed--the way my mom needed to go to go home. So...she ended up spending the night. Kathryn came over and we had a little going away party for Sara. After dinner we got situated for bed. It was a true slumber party. Hannah slept on the air mattress in the living room, I slept on the couch, Mama slept in my bed and Sara in her bed.

Sara had to get up early on Saturday to finish packing and leave for Hungary!

catching up

I got a little nudge from Morgan asking me to keep this thing updated. My original plan was to take a photo a day and post it with a little caption. Too bad I didn't do it.

Friday was really hot here. I took Hannah to Carmel Beach for a picnic. It was so beautiful and perfect.

We then rode up Highway 1 all the way to Big Sur. We stopped along the way a few times.
It was up to 102 in Big Sur. When we got out of the car our feet were really hot from standing on the pavement. We made it up to Pfeiffer State Park and then turned around and drove home.

Battle Wounds

So my stitches on my arm don't hurt as much today, but they look really gross. I've never had stitches before, but I don't even know how many I have and I wish I did!

I also went to pick up more medicine today at WalMart and I get so embarrased because the same guy is there putting together my medicine. Every other time I've been to WalMart to get antibiotics there is this woman who helps me. But of course, every time I've been to get my anti-fungus medicine its the same guy. He knows what he's giving me--he has a degree in medicine--and every time its a different type of fungus medication. Cream, pills, more cream, different pills, powder. Today as I got another round of anti-fungus pills (praying they don't hurt my liver) the same Mr. Pharmacist was there again. I'm sure he thought, "Here comes fungus girl again..." So I smile, turn red, pay my $5 co-pay and turn around and walk away quickly.

Wanna see a picture of my battle wound? All this because of my little Kordell from my first year of teaching. He sure left an impression on me... Don't throw up on your computer.

Biopsy

This is my skin biopsy from my ring worm taken today. I got ring worm from a student last year and its not going away. Grosso Grosso Grosso! It hurt and I have fat stitches that I can't look at yet...its too gross. They get taken out in a week. The painful part now is where they did the biopsy...they took it from where my arm folds, so my arm has to stay straight as much as possible. Until then I'm back to my medicine until I find out if it hurts my liver. Praise God that it is summer and I'm not dealing with this during my regular working days. I'm also thankful that I was able to get cable yesterday. I came home and let the anesthesia wear off while I watched (I think) The Great Outdoors with John Candy until I fell asleep.

Thanks to George W.

Cable is here! 19.99/month plus free installation. Summer Break is wonderful =)

King City Fire Picture

I am just seeing if I can post a picture on here, and maybe I'll start doing more of it! This is a picture from the king city fire. I was driving between San Luis Obispo and Monterey and pulled to the side of the road. Isn't it awesome that God can take something so dirty and evil as a fire and turn it into something so beautiful ?

Back to Blogging

So it is officially summer vacation and after getting to talk to an old friend on myspace and reading all her blogs, I've decided I should start one.

I went down to Los Osos on Thursday and my grandma drove down and met up with me and my sisters. It was uneventful but fun nonetheless. I got to see Emily's new house, and it is so small but cute.

Hannah came in last night from New York. She's stealing Sara's identity while Sara is in Eastern Europe for a Vision for Life program. She gets to go hang out with the Fosters for the summer. It is so wonderful to have a like-minded friend visiting for awhile. Hannah will be here until the middle of August, so i'm looking forward to a fun summer. I'll still have the days to myself, but the evenings and weekends will be full of fun stuff I never have time to do during the school year.

Hopefully, tomorrow will be an eventful day, well after sleeping in and wasting the morning. Comcast is coming between 8-12 to hook up cable! It is the first time as an adult that I will have cable and I'm quite excited. I just bought a glorious flat screen tv thanks to George W's stimulus package and I got a great deal on cable with ON Demand! Oh its the little things in life that make me excited! My car is leaking something, and I need to get that figured out as well. I'll take back my stuff from Marshalls I bought ages ago and then hang out with some cute kids at the Most Excellent Way.
