I read this morning about God being the God of hope. Reading some notes from my study bible---I found this: Unlike the English word “hope” the NT word contains no uncertainty; it speaks of something that is certain, but not yet realized. Our hope will be realized because Christ himself secures it.

I would define ‘hope’ as: wanting something/desiring something and hoping that I get it, achieve it, see God work through it, etc. Obviously not too biblical.

This changes everything for me! The bible’s term for hope contains NO uncertainty—something that is CERTAIN.

We can hope in Christ with full assurance and no uncertainty.

May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him. So that we may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
