So get this: My dear friend Rosa lives in Oceanside. I felt this urge to call her last week and when I did she was shocked that I was calling her because she was in the same town as me! I had gotten home from school and was just resting on my couch in my cozy apartment and I gave her a call, and surprise surprise she was on the peninsula too! She had to take her daughter to Stanford for the day and so she was sleeping at her mom's house, which is in the same town on the peninsula as me! We got to hang out that evening. It was a great surprise!
She was my first teaching buddy and will always be my favorite. We both barely survived our first year as teachers at a diffcult school with some rough kids, together. I love you Rosa!
